Nobody is Attacking Me!

“Odysseus offered the cyclops some very powerful wine, and his host asked his name: “Nobody”, said Odysseus. The cyclops grew drunk on the wine, and Odysseus and his men began attacking the cyclops with a sharpened stick. The other cyclopes of the island came running when they heard the screams of pain, but when they shouted through the closed entrance, all the cyclops could respond was “Nobody is attacking me!” – Homer’s The Odyssey

Project Summary: “Nobody is Attacking Me!” is a real-time tower defense virtual-reality game, where the player is the tower! The player takes on the form of a giant cyclops, towering over mythological landscapes in Virtual Reality. As beautiful as it is in this game, fighting off waves of frightened Greek soldiers is your prerogative. Perhaps you’re just misunderstood, but that’s not stopping the hordes of Greek armies from launching rocks at you from their deadly catapults. Don’t get careless! Their throwing spears are very sharp! You don’t want to lose your one and only eye! Retaliate in fury by picking up the soldiers slashing at your legs and hurling them like bowling balls towards their comrades!

Nobody is Attacking Me! was my semester project for virtual and augmented reality class. The project was built using the Unity Game Engine and developed for the Oculus Quest 2. All assets were imported from ‘Unity Assets Store.’ All scripts, AI and gameplay mechanics were created by me. This is an ongoing project with hopes of building custom assets and a fully developed experience in virtual reality.
